How it works

For every photo donated, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 US to the NWA American Diabetes Association. That $1 US helps the NWA ADA host kids at Diabetes Camp, where they can make friends and learn how to better live with their disease in an environment built just for them. It takes 650 photos to send one child to Diabetes Camp.

The NWA American Diabetes Association (ADA) fights for those affected by diabetes, funding research to prevent, cure, and manage the disease. They also deliver services and provide useful information to communities all over the country. Every July, the NWA ADA, with the help of individual volunteers, hosts over 50 kids (ages 8-13) at Camp Aldersgate. Diabetes Camp allows kids to have a great time participating in traditional camp activities while connecting with other diabetic children. It's a safe place for campers to swim, hike, play, create, and grow. Health care professionals oversee daily diabetes care and help campers learn to live successfully with diabetes. Most attendees are scholarship based, which is why the NWA ADA relies heavily on fundraising to help make this summer dream a reality for as many kids as possible.
