How it works

For every photo donated, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 US to Operation Smile. That $1 US will help Operation Smile give children around the world with cleft lip, cleft palate or another facial deformity the critical supplies like antibiotics, IV starter kits, and pain medication they need for life-changing surgery. It takes 240 photos to provide a safe surgery that will help one child eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Billions of people lack access to surgical care, and billions more don't receive the safe and timely surgery they need. But at Operation Smile, we believe that every child suffering from cleft lip or cleft palate deserves access to exceptional medical solutions.

That’s what drives each and every one of us: our global network of medical professionals and volunteers who donate thousands of hours toward healing the smiles of children around the world, and our supporters who strive to make a difference in the lives of children they have never met.

To date, we have provided hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children born with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities.  But there is still more to be done. As long as there are children in the world who need our help, we will do whatever it takes to give them the quality care that they deserve.
