Goal met

For every photo you donate, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 to Save the Children. That $1 helps make it possible to provide a resuscitation device to help newborn babies take their first breath. It takes six photos to provide one resuscitation device.

The partnership with Save the Children contributes to Johnson & Johnson’s commitment to the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals, which is part of our effort to improve the health of women, children and families around the world.

Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world. Since 2000, Save the Children's Saving Newborn Lives program has worked with governments and partners, like Johnson & Johnson, to develop and support affordable and effective ways to improve newborn health and survival in many of the world’s poorest countries. During that time, substantial progress has been made towards defining the major causes of newborn deaths and documenting what can be done to address those causes in countries where the need is greatest.

"There is now substantial evidence that the vast majority of newborn deaths can be prevented with low-cost, low-tech care, such as teaching a mother the Kangaroo Mother Care method of keeping her newborn warm and to breastfeed her baby starting at birth," said Carolyn Miles, President & CEO of Save the Children.
