How it works

For every photo you donate, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 US to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. That $1 US helps UNICEF improve newborn and maternal care by providing essential training and medical equipment at the Yekatit-12 Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It takes 10 photos to help give one newborn a healthy start in life.

UNICEF does whatever it takes to save and protect the world's most vulnerable children. Forty years ago, UNICEF discovered how simple, low-cost interventions, like hand washing and breastfeeding, could save millions of lives. Undaunted by war or geography, UNICEF strives to improve newborn and maternal care every day. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports this work and more through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States.

In Ethiopia alone, nearly 196,000 children die every year before reaching their fifth birthday – and they don’t have to. UNICEF is committed to supporting the Government of Ethiopia and partners in accelerating and scaling up quality newborn care.

The Global Moms Relay is an opportunity to share stories of motherhood that inspire action to help improve the lives of mothers and children everywhere.

The Global Moms Relay will be active starting before Mother's Day until after Father's Day - May 4 to June 17. Every time you share a Global Moms Relay post with a friend or through your social networks, Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to one of three global initiatives: Nothing But Nets, U.S. Fund for UNICEF and Girl Up.
